Sickle cell affects more than the body. It can affect education, relationships, finances, mental wellbeing and everyday life.

Why Malichis Exists

Our Story

Lilyan Madueke saw someone they loved fight sickle cell disease without the medication, the emergency care, or even the basic information that could have made the fight survivable.

That's the problem we saw — and it's why Malichis Sickle Cell Foundation has begun it's journey for over half a decade: not as an organization first, but as a decision that no other family in Lagos should face that same struggle alone.

Since then, we've grown from a small group showing up at hospitals with medication in hand, to a foundation running awareness campaigns, education programs, and direct support for warriors across our community.

What began with a desire to help has grown into a mission to educate, support, advocate and create hope.
